December: Shanghai International Pet Industry Year-End Summit Summarizes Trends and Looks Ahead

From December 10 to 12, the 2025 Shanghai International Pet Industry Year-End Summit and Expo was held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). As the year-end event of the entire year, the summit carried the theme “Intelligence Ignites the Future, A New Ecosystem for the Pet Industry.” It showcased the technological achievements in pet appliances throughout the year and released the 2025 Global Development White Paper on Pet Smart Appliances. Annual Hot-Selling Products Make a Collective Appearance The expo set up a “2025 Annual Innovative Product Exhibition Zone,” where popular products of the year—including the CES-award-winning PETKIT ULTRA automatic litter box and the IFA hit product GlocalMe PetPhone—were displayed collectively. On-site, scenario-based displays showcased application solutions of smart devices in multiple scenarios such as home, medical care, and travel. According to data from the white paper, the global market size of pet smart appliances in 2025 reached $89 billion, with Chinese brands contributing 42% of the market share.

Authoritative Release of Technological Trends At the summit forum, industry experts pointed out three major future trends: First, deep empowerment by AI large models: Pet appliances will achieve more precise behavior recognition and emotional interaction. Second, green and environmental protection becomes a standard feature: The application rate of degradable materials and energy-saving chips in new products has reached 68%. Third, accelerated cross-sector integration: Cross-sector products such as pet-exclusive seats launched by automakers and smart pet cabins from home furnishing brands are reshaping human-pet living scenarios. The summit also launched the formulation work of the “Industry Standard for Pet Smart Appliances,” which is expected to be officially implemented in 2026.
